  • 9th grade - .5 Practical Art credit
    This course will be an introduction to career and technical education programs. Students will be exposed to computer science, health science, machining and manufacturing, agriculture, engineering, carpentry, criminal justice, and family and consumer sciences. This broad introduction class will help students find a program that perhaps they may choose as a career choice after high school.

  • 9th-12th grade - 1 Practical Art credit, Full year

  • 10th, 11th, 12th Grade – 1 Practical Art credit

    This course prepares students for careers in business, marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. Students develop competencies in business fundamentals including human relations, communications, selling, promotion, and financing. This instructional program emphasizes the competencies necessary for an individual to achieve success in advertising, buying, fashion merchandising, banking, tourism, and business ownership. The importance of the free enterprise system in a global economy and the American work ethic is stressed. Enrollment in the course makes students eligible for potential school internships and encouraged to join DECA.

     

  • 10th, 11th, 12th grade -1  Practical Art Credit

    This course will encourage students to explore the exciting world of social media marketing and digital marketing. Through a combination of theory and practical application, students will gain a deep understanding of the strategies and techniques used to promote products, services, and brands in the digital age. Enrollment in the course makes students eligible for potential school internships and encouraged to join DECA. **This course is highly recommended for students who are also taking Marketing 1 and/or Sports Marketing.

  • 10th, 11th, 12th grade -1  Practical Art Credit

    This course will help students develop a thorough understanding of the marketing concepts and theories that apply to sports, sporting events, and the entertainment industry. The areas this course will cover include basic marketing, target marketing and segmentation, sponsorship, event marketing promotions, sponsorship proposals, and implementation of sports marketing plans. This course will also delve into promotion plans, sponsorship proposals, sports marketing plans, and event evaluation and management techniques. Enrollment in the course makes students eligible for potential school internships and students are encouraged to join DECA.

     

  • 11th or 12th grade - 1 Practical Art Credit

    Prerequisite: Marketing 1 or Sports and Entertainment Marketing

    Advanced Marketing is a full year course for juniors or seniors who are interested in a career in the field of marketing. Students will study communication skills, business ethics, branding and packaging, target marketing, consumer behavior, and independent marketing research. Students need to be familiar with Canva. DECA membership is required (current cost of dues is $25)
