AEL ORIENTATION

All students who wish to enroll in AEL services for ABE/ASE, HSE, and ELL must attend an Orientation. During Orientation, students receive an overview of services offered at the Carthage Technical Center, complete enrollment forms, and take a placement test. The TABE test is given to ABE/ASE (HSE) students in the areas of Reading, Language, and Mathematics. The CASAS Steps test is given to ELL students in the areas of Reading and Listening. Following a minimum of 40 hours of instruction, students are required to take a posttest.
